ABOUT THIS COURSE
Caring for a child with severe disabilities and life-limiting or life-threatening illness is no easy task. Families are often overwhelmed and exhausted, feeling all alone in caring for their child. A confident, competent and supportive caregiver can literally mean the difference between surviving or thriving each day.
Caring for an ill or disabled child is completely different to caring for an adult or elderly person. Unfortunately, most caregiving courses focus mainly on adult and elderly care.
At Butterfly Palliative Home we strive to provide the best possible care for the children in our home and we want to share these skills and equip more passionate caregivers to go out into the world and make a difference by providing excellent care to the nearly 1 million children in South Africa needing palliative care each year.
We are so excited for you to join us on this journey of learning how to be an EXCELLENT Children’s Palliative Caregiver.
We hope that you will be empowered and inspired by what you learn and that you will grow in your confidence and passion for caring for children facing big battles.
Through compassionate care, practical support and dedicated learning, you can become a source of strength and hope for children and families navigating difficult journeys.
